Pastor Paul's Paragraphs

Once again it is the end of summer and many of us are saying, "WOW, where did summer go?" For Joyce and I, summer included spending time in our flower and vegetable gardens, a few day trips, and some time at home together. We comp-leted a few projects, made a visit to Phoenix were my mom lives, and had a very special week with old friends from college days. The weekend we returned to Yuba City included the dedication of our 2007 Grace Christian Academy and Pre-school staff. Classes for our school began that following Mon-day. If you look around the facilities, you will find several improvements including some new carpet, a refinished parking lot, an almost completed fence, and lots of hard work on our playgrounds and ball fields. Look a little closer and you will find even more that reflects the hard work of both employees and volunteers who have labored hard to get all our facilities ready for the fall.

I am reminded of a special section of Scripture. It is 1 Thessalonians 1:2 and 3. It reads, "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father."

I am thankful to God for the multitude of people who have risen to the challenge of continuing ministry here on the campus of Grace Baptist Church. These people include members and friends, former members, and employees who choose to go beyond what is expected of them. I thank each and every one of you for your hard work, devotion to the Lord, and the way you enable the ministries of Grace Baptist Church to impact lives for Jesus Christ. As we look to our future together, we already have a busy fall scheduled. Within this community of believers, we thank God for each and every one of you, for your desire to serve God and for your willingness to help us do ministry here in Yuba City.

     THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!

      Pastor Paul

C.T.F. (Connecting the Family) IS COMING TO GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH
Families (singles, couples) will be matched up in groups of three to fellowship together once a month for three months. After three months, new groups of three will be formed so that you have an opportunity to meet other families in the church. You can decide, as a group, what you will do and where you will go. For example, have a meal in your home, eat out, go on a picnic, just have dessert - the possibilities are endless. It’s your choice. If you are interested in participating in this exciting program, a registration card will be available on Round Up Sunday.

E.A.T.S. Report For August

The reviews are in and what are people saying?

"The E.A.T.S. Program is a great time to get to know other families and build relationships in the Lord." "We had lots of fun!" "It’s a super way to get acquainted."

So what types of food did our GBC families enjoy? Some went out for lunch, others had pizza and some even drove out to the country for a delicious BBQ.

"I enjoyed hearing others talk about the work that the Lord is doing in their lives."

"I enjoyed being served for once, and I especially enjoyed the fellowship."

" I had a wonderful time laughing and teasing my brothers and sisters in Christ."

When asked if the participants would participate in the E.A.T.S. Program again, all said "YES!".

Well, looks like the E.A.T.S. Program is a definite winner. If you were not able to take part in this E.A.T.S. don’t worry, you will have another chance. Our next E.A.T.S. Program is scheduled for November 11-plan now!
